A Method for Directly Extracting the Jacobian Matrix of the Power Flow Equations of a Power System in Polar Coordinates

This paper presents a method to directly extract the Jacobian matrix of power system’s flow (PF) equations in polar coordinates (termed as DEJMP method). is designed reduce computational complexity extraction process and improve efficiency relevant PF algorithm. Direct from complex equation precludes an increase both number procedural steps expense, which problem associated with conventional (C-PF) algorithm due its requirement that derivatives active reactive bus be taken separate steps. The avoids trigonometric calculations used for computing matrix, resulting significant efficiency. In addition, simulation results obtained IEEE-300, S-1047, S-2383, S-9241 systems validate DEJMP-based requires more than 20% less time calculate C-PF decrease pronounced large systems.
